Los Lamborghinis of The thread work

 

Tablecloths described below, have been considered by the thread work workers of the Casa de los Balcones, as the highest quality based on both the complexity of the details worked out, and the time it took them to create these wonderful works of art. Therefore, we call these three tablecloths as the Lamborghinis of the thread work, as in thread work, they represent the excellence of the same.

Colcha Tablecloth

Dimensions: 2.40 x 2.05 m

Material: We have used 2.50 m long x 2.15 m wide fabric of linen cloth and 55 balls of yarn to make the thread work (about 13,750 m.).

Realization: It has been worked in the workshop of the Casa de los Balcones by three thread work workers, who thread four hours a day, has taken 35 months to complete. They have made approx. 48.8 m of *espiguetas (tablecloth and napkins) and 9892 holes. To make the strands passing in each of the holes, they made 4 in vertical and 4 in horizontal in a straight line, made with knots to do the “pintas” (darned squares that fill the passes) and to make the flowers pass the *biés, 4 to the right and 4 to the left, 4 vertical and 4 horizontal (16 knots in each hole). Only in the passing of strands they have made approx. 197 840 knots and have worked 5188 flowers and 5762 pintas approx. In the center, 4 fans and 5 large darned flowers (For the central flower has been used aprox 250m. of thread). For both randas they made only 398 darned flowers with knotted stems (approx. 11517 knots) together with a wavy line forming a chain and 1906 inverted darned pyramids  and lines of “espigas sardinas” (approx. 39m).

 

 

Corinilla Tablecloth

Dimensions: 2.45 x 1.65 m (includes 10 napkins)

Material: 4 m they have used. long x 1.75 m wide linen cloth and 49 balls of yarn to make the thread work (approx. 12,209 m.).

Realization: It has been worked for three workers in the workshop of the Casa de los Balcones, working four hours a day, it has taken 10 months to complete. They have done 126 m of *espiguetas (tablecloth and napkins) and 7402 *holes. To make the * passed of strands in each of the holes, 2 passes clockwise and 2 to the left, knotting at each corner in the center, making 8 passes which have been knotted thread by thread (12 knots in each hole). 4442 thread work flowers have 8 petals and a central knotted circle. Each flower has used approx. 1 meter of thread. The flowers are surrounded by two lines of half turns made with knots (8700 approx knots.)  and with *espiga sardina. And a * randa of 41 m approx. For the set (tablecloth and napkins) finished off with a *presilla of 51.8 m. Only for this work we have done 337 304 knots.

 

 

Marañuela Tablecloth

Dimensions: 2.50 x 1.70 m (includes 12 napkins)

Material: We have used 4 m long x 2 m wide fabric of linen cloth and 23 balls of yarn to make the thread work (5750m approx.)

Realization: It has been worked in the workshop of the Casa de los Balcones by three workers, who work four hours a day, it has taken 10 months to complete. They have carried out 266 m of *espiguetas (tablecloth and napkins) and 2336 holes. To make the * passing of strands in each of the holes, 3 pass clockwise and 3 to the left, knotting at each corner, making 6 pass that have been knotted thread by thread (21 knots in each hole). They have worked 1172 darned flowers and 1198 circles made with knots and finished off with a darned line. They have used approx. 3 m for each one and they have worked a Randa made with knots and a presilla *approx. 30 cm. Only for the passing of threads, and circles and * randa they have been made approx. 146,900.
